Newton plays bass guitar on the first three Uriah Heep studio albums. He was also a member of pre-Heep group Spice and plays on the b-side of their only 7" single, some recordings were later released on compilation cd 'The Lansdowne Tapes'. RECORDINGS LP VERY 'EAVY ... After leaving Heep he soon retired from professional music but kept playing for fun. In 2000 he joined Hensley and John Lawton in Hensley/Lawton Band and appears on their live album 'The Return.'Since then he has been playing live occasionally with both current Uriah Heep as well as former members Ken Hensley, Lee Kerslake & John Lawton.
